'Pokémon Go' Raid Boss Update: Cresselia Now Appears In Legendary Battles

Giratina has left Pokémon Go Raid Battles (for now) but Niantic has replaced the Ghost and Dragon-type Legendary with Cresselia, the Moon Pokémon.

Starting Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. EST to Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. EST, the Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon will appear in Tier 5 Raid Battles alongside the most recent Raid update that happened during the current Pokémon Let's Go launch celebration event. This includes Alolan Exeggutor and Raichu, as well as Shiny Magnemite.

If you want to try and take down Cresselia, here are the best counters.

CRESSELIA RAID BATTLE COUNTERS

So which Pokémon should you bring into battle against Cresselia? The usual suspects are currently your best bet.

Cresselia being a pure Psychic-type Pokémon is weak to the following types of attacks: Dark, Ghost and Bug. The Moon Pokémon resists attack that are Fighting and Psychic-type so be sure to avoid using them.

Mewtwo with Shadow Ball is a safe choice to go up against Cresselia. Gengar and Banette with two Ghost-type attacks also helps. New Sinnoh Evolutions, Weavile and Honchkrow are great choices as their Dark typing and attacks will be super effective against Cresselia.

Tyranitar, Sharpedo and even Pinsir can also help take down the Moon Pokémon if you're lacking some of these more rare Pokémon.

CURRENT POKEMON GO RAID BOSS LIST

With the addition of Cresselia, the Raid Boss list in Pokémon Go has changed only slightly. However, Niantic already announced that the current Kanto event to celebrate Pokémon Let's Go will make further changes to the Raid list.

From Nov. 23-26, Eevee's evolutions - Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Umbreon and Espeon - as well as Pikachu's evolutions - Raichu and Alolan Raichu - will begin to appear in Raid Battles.

When the new Pokémon begin to appear, we'll be sure to update the story but until then here's the most current Raid Boss list in Pokémon Go.
