Dialga arrives in 'Pokemon Go' Niantic

Dialga is a Steel and Dragon-type Pokémon, which is a great typing on defense. It's only weak to Ground and Fighting attacks.

The Pokémon has many resistances, which include: Normal, Rock, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Flying, Psychic, Bug and Steel-type attacks. Because Dialga is only weak to two types, it's counters are pretty easy to determine.

Here are the best options for taking down Dialga:

  • Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
  • Groudon with Mud Shot and Earthquake
  • Breloom with Counter and Dynamic Punch
  • Hariyama with Counter and Dynamic Punch
  • Lucario with Counter and Close Combat
  • Croagunk with Counter and Dynamic Punch

Other options for team members include Blaziken, Heracross, Rhyperior and Mamoswine all with Fighting and Ground-type attacks.

With the introduction of Dialga, the Raid Bosses in Pokémon Go have shifted around. There is a good mix of Kanto, Alolan and Hoenn Pokémon now in Raids.
