'Pokémon Go' Raid Boss Update: Shiny Shinx and Other Gen 4 Pokémon Appearing

The Gen 4 update in Pokémon Go has brought a ton of changes to the popular mobile game. More than 20 Pokémon were introduced from the Sinnoh Region, what hatches from eggs changed, and Raid Bosses have shifted around to have a Gen 4 feel.

Hours after the Gen 4 update went into effect, Raids were changed, with the first-tier bosses all coming from the Sinnoh Region. There are even reports of trainers finding a Shiny Shinx after defeating it.

Shiny Shinx, and its evolutions Luxio and Luxray, are the first from Gen 4 to officially get their shiny forms in Pokémon Go. Trainers who have captured older generation Pokémon like Magmar, who already have their shinies in the game and evolve in Gen 4, will get another chance to fill up their Shiny Pokedex whenever their evolutions are released in Pokémon Go.

To find a Shiny Shinx, you'll need to defeat the Electric-type Pokémon in a Raid Boss. Defeat the Pokémon, and when you get to the capture stage it'll either be in its normal form, which has a blue coloring or in its Shiny form where it changes to gold.

Interestingly, Shinx's evolution Luxio has reportedly started hatching from 10km Eggs. This is unusual, because Luxio is the middle evolution in the Shinx line and it's usually the base form that hatches. This is likely a mistake on Niantic's part and will probably change to Shinx in a future update.
