'Pokémon Go' Raid Update: Virizion Counters and Every Change
The third "Sword of Justice" is arriving in Pokémon GoRaids with the latest update, and trainers will want to gather their strongest team to take on this latest Legendary Pokémon.
Starting Tuesday, December 17 at 4 p.m. EST until Tuesday, January 7 at 4 p.m. EST, the Raids will change to bring Virizion into Level 5 Raids. That means Terrakion, the second "Sword of Justice" will leave to be seen and battled likely at a later time.
However, Virizion brings another great chance for Pokémon Go trainers to not only fill out their Unova Pokedexes but add another powerful Legendary to their ranks as well.
If you want to take down Virizion as easily as possible, here's a list of Pokémon counters as well as the latest crop of Raids from this latest update.

POKEMON GO VIRIZION COUNTERS
Virizion is a Grass and Fighting-type Pokémon, making it weak to Fire, Poison, Psychic, Fairy, Ice and Flying-type attacks. Flying moves are especially powerful against Virizion as they are four times super effective.
Luckily for Pokémon Go players, there's an abundance of strong Flying-type Pokémon especially easily-accessible Legendary Pokémon.
Here's a list of possible Pokémon and moves that you'll want to consider before going into battle against Virizion:
- Moltres with any Fire or Flying moves (preferably two Flying moves)
- Honchkrow with any two Flying moves
- Rayquaza with any two Flying moves
- Unfezant with any two Flying moves
- Mewtwo with any two Psychic moves
- Ho-Oh with two Flying moves
There are plenty of other options if you don't have access to some of these Legendary Pokémon, but you'll want to stay away from Pokémon that have Rock, Dark, Water, Electric and Ground-type attacks.
