'Pokémon Go' Gengar Day Announced, Shiny Gengar Chance in Raid Battles
Pokémon Go is continues its Halloween 2018 celebration with a day dedicated to one of the original Ghost types, Gengar.
On Saturday, Nov. 3 from 2-5 p.m. EDT, Pokémon Go players will notice every Raid Battle will feature Gengar only. Trainers will get a chance to catch this Ghost and Poison-type Pokémon, and its Shiny Form will be available for the first time in the popular mobile game.

Every Pokémon Go player will receive up to five Raid Passes from nearby Gyms during the event window to give them at least five cracks at getting a Shiny Gengar, which doesn't look much different from the normal form. Be sure to pay attention to the new Shiny label in the capture screen to see if you're trying to catch a Shiny Gengar.

Gengar Day is similar to when Pokémon Go had special events for Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos over the summer. Those days were the first time the Shiny forms for the three Legendary Birds of Kanto were released in the game. Niantic also gave trainers five free Raid Passes for those days as well.
If you're looking to get your team ready for Gengar Day, the Ghost and Poison-type is weak to Ghost, Psychic, Ground and Dark-type attacks. Normal, Poison, Fairy, Bug, Grass and Fighting-type attacks will do reduced damage to Gengar.
As Gengar will likely have at least one Ghost-type attack, we suggest not bringing your own Ghost or Psychic types, unless they are powerful Legendaries like Mewtwo or Lugia. Pokémon like Tyranitar and Groudon are your best bets for dealing with Gengar.
