'Pokémon Go' Community Day: Shiny Seedot, Start Time & Everything You Need to Know

The next Community Day event in Pokémon Go will feature the Grass-type from the Hoenn region, Seedot.

While some may not find this choice of a spotlight Pokémon to be the best, this upcoming event will see the debut of its Shiny form, and it'll also gift its fully evolved form, Shiftry, some much-needed power in PVP.

As Pokémon Go players saw with the Abra Community Day in April, there will be a lot of in-game bonuses to take advantage of and a new special research task that trainers can purchase access to in the in-game shop.

SEEDOT COMMUNITY DAY START TIME

The Seedot Community Day event in Pokémon Go begins Sunday at 11 a.m. local time and ends at 5 p.m. local time.

SHINY SEEDOT

Seedot will appear more frequently in the overworld of Pokémon Go this Sunday, and if you're lucky you may encounter its Shiny form. Shiny Seedot is making its debut in Pokémon Go and trainers will have plenty of chances to catch this rare Pokémon.

If you're a Shiny Hunter, Community Day will be your best chance as the rate of encountering a Shiny Seedot will be increased during the event time.

Shiny Seedot's coloring changes in this rare form. The brown coloring changes to a more red color, so it's easy to distinguish it from its normal form.

SEEDOT COMMUNITY DAY EXCLUSIVE MOVE

This event will see Shiftry, Seedot's final evolution, learn the Grass-type attack Bullet Seed.

Players will have up until two hours after the event finishes (7 p.m. local time) to have their Shiftry learn this exclusive move. Seedot and its evolution, Nuzleaf, don't have to be caught during the event for them to learn Bullet Seed upon evolving—you can have a Seedot you caught before Community Day learn this move, as long as it's within the event window.

IN-GAME BONUSES

For $1, Pokémon Go players can purchase the Special Research story "Seeing Double," which will have trainers follow Professor Willow as he learns about Seedot and its evolved forms.

Completing this special event will earn players three Incense, five Golden Razz Berries and other rewards.

Other in-game bonuses during the Seedot Community Day include a special unknown Pokémon when players take snapshots. There is also a one-time purchase bundle that features an Elite Fast TM, 30 Ultra Balls, three Incense and three Lucky Eggs.

Incense will also last for three hours, up from one, and earn three times the catch experience.
