'Pokémon Go' Data Mine Finds Remaining Gen 4 Pokémon Including Arceus and Garchomp

Whenever Niantic introduces a new generation of Pokémon they like to release them in batches and Gen 4 was no exception. A new datamine reveals more info about Gen 4.

The Sinnoh region Pokémon first arrived in Pokémon Go back in October 2018 and almost six months later it seems that the rest of the Gen 4 'Mon have finally made it into the popular mobile game's servers.

Pokémon Go data miner, Chrales discovered the sprites for the rest of the Gen 4 Pokémon and streamed them on his Twitch channel.

The Pokémon from Gen 4 that have yet to be included in Pokémon Go are:

  • Hippopotas line
  • Gible line
  • Cherubi line
  • Burmy line
  • Shellos line
  • Mime Jr.
  • Mothim
  • Magnezone
  • Leafeon
  • Glaceon
  • Probopass
  • Rotom (and its various forms)
  • Uxie
  • Mesprit
  • Azelf
  • Shaymin (along with Sky Form)
  • Manaphy
  • Phione
  • Darkrai
  • Regigigas
  • Arceus

The highlights of this list are the Gible line, which includes the Pseudo-Legendary of the region Garchomp as well as the various Legendary Pokémon that haven't appeared in Pokémon Go yet. These include Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Shaymin, Manaphy, Phione, Darkrai, Regigigas and Arceus.

It should be noted that because the sprites and animations were included in the server doesn't mean they are about to release. Niantic is just prepping Pokémon Go for when they flip the switch on some if not all of the remaining Gen 4 Pokémon.

Seeing as how Niantic likes to release Legendary Pokémon in Raids, players should expect Darkrai, Regigigas and Arceus appear in Raids down the line. Currently, Dialga is available in Raid Battles with Palkia, Heatran and Giratina appearing in the past.

The Lake Legendaries, Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie will likely be available in special quests along with Manaphy and Shaymin.

As for the non-legendary Pokémon of the Sinnoh region, most of them will likely just be released in the wild in a future update. The same with evolutions of older generation Pokémon, like Magnezone and Probopass.

Rotom could also be added through a special questline like Spiritomb.

When more information on the release of the other Gen 4 Pokémon is released we'll update. In the meantime, let us know what you think of the upcoming Pokémon being added. Which are you most excited to catch and who do you think will be the best battlers? Let us know in the comments section below.
