'Pokémon Go' Update: Shiny Elekid, New Evolutions Added

Ahead of the Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee release, Pokémon Go has updated with some major additions including new Shiny Pokémon and evolutions.

With the update, a new event has begun focusing on some of the Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon that evolve in Gen 4.

There are Combat Point (CP) changes as well as changes to what hatches in Eggs. There's a lot to go through in this new Pokémon Go event and we have all the information.

The new Pokémon Go event begins Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. EST and ends on Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. EST.

Niantic is slowly, but surely, releasing Shiny forms of Pokémon already in the game and the Elekid line gets some live this time.

Elekid will now hatch in 2km Eggs during this new event and will have an increased chance of being Shiny. Shiny Elekid and the rest of his line gain a more orange tint added to its yellow coloring.

The Pokémon who have evolutions in the Sinnoh Region will now begin to hatch from 2km Eggs. These Pokémon include: Magby, Elekid, Porygon, Rhyhorn, Togepi, Gligar, Murkrow, Misdreavus, Sneasel, Roselia and Duskull.

It's unknown whether the 2km pool of Eggs obtained during the event is just those Pokémon, we will update as soon as we learn more.

There are 11 new Pokémon added with this latest update, and they are all evolutions of Gen 1-3 Pokémon. While some Sinnoh evolutions were not included like Gallade and Froslass, there are still plenty for Pokémon Go players to obtain.

They all require 100 candy of that Pokémon and a Sinnoh Stone that can be obtained through a Research Breakthrough. Also, Pokémon that used to need 50 candy to evolve like Rhyhorn and Togepi now just need 25.

Here are the new Pokémon and what they need to evolve:

Rhydon - > Rhyperior

Togetic -> Togekiss

Dusclops -> Dusknoir

Misdreavus -> Mismagius

Murkrow -> Honchrkow

Electabuzz -> Electivire

Magmar -> Magmortar

Porygon 2 - > Porygon Z

Sneasel - > Weavile

Gligar -> Gliscor

Roselia -> Roserade
