New 'Pokémon Let's Go' Trailer Shows Mega Evolution in Action

The Pokémon Company released a brand new gameplay trailer for Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee showing Mega Evolution in action, and the first appearance of classic characters.

In the trailer titled "Picking Pikachu or Eevee is Only the Beginning," Pokémon fans are treated to cutscenes of classic elements from the original Pokémon Yellow Version like the S.S. Anne in Vermillion City and run-ins with Team Rocket.

Check out the latest Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee trailer below.

The latest trailer shows more Pokémon, and how they'll look when they follow you. These Pokémon include: Psyduck, Goldeen, Staryu and Poliwhirl. Players will also be able to explore the S.S. Anne like in the original Yellow Version.

Lt. Surge is shown for the first time in the new trailer along with his Gym's infamous switch puzzle. We also get to see his trusty partner, Raichu, in battle.

However, the biggest part of the trailer are the aforementioned Mega Evolutions. Although it was confirmed in the most recent issue of CoroCoro, the Japanese version of the new Let's Go trailer gives a little more insight into how it works. Take a look.

Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise are confirmed to have their Mega Evolutions in Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. The Fire and Flying-type Pokémon has two different Mega Evolutions and the Japanese trailer shows that trainers can select whether they want the X or Y Evolution.

In the mainline Pokémon games, trainers had to select one or the other for Charizard to hold to activate its Mega Evolution. The new trailer suggests that either there are no hold items for Pokémon or that the X and Y Mega Stones are being consolidated into one item. It's unclear at this time, but more information will likely come out as we get closer to the release date.

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee will release on Nintendo Switch Nov. 16.
