Allister is the Internet's New Favorite Gym Leader in 'Pokémon Sword and Shield'

Move over Nessa, there's a new favorite Gym Leader in the Galar region.

A new trainer was revealed in the July 8 Pokémon Sword and Shield trailer, and now the internet is in love with Allister the Ghost-type expert.

The diminutive trainer is dressed in black and purple, but his defining feature is the white skeleton mask that he wears to cover his face. According to the official description of Allister from the Sword and Shield site, he wears a mask because he's overly shy.

Read the description below.

Allister is a talented Trainer of Ghost-type Pokémon who has taken on the mantle of the Ghost-type Gym Leader at a young age. He's extremely shy and fearful, and he always hides his face with a mask when around other people. He rarely makes public appearances and apparently spends most of his time around ruins or in cemeteries.

In the trailer, Allister was revealed alongside Bea the Fighting-type Gym Leader. Bea wasn't shown with any Pokémon, however Allister was seen sending out his Mimikyu, the Ghost and Fairy-type Pokémon from the Alola region.

It's highly unlikely that Mimikyu will be Allister's only Pokémon when you face off against him. According to Serebii, the only Ghost-type Pokémon found in the Galar Pokedex - as of July 8 - are the Gengar line, Dusknoir line, Froslass, Drifblim line, Golurk line, Gourgeist line, Jellicent line, and Mimikyu.

There are plenty of Ghost-type Pokémon he can use, but seeing as how he likes to hide behind masks we could see him using the Duskull or Cofagrigus line - if those Pokémon are confirmed for Galar.

While we wait for the Sword and Shield release on November 15, the Pokémon community has already begun showing its love for the new character with tons of tweets and fan art.

Take a look at some of our favorites below.

Currently, there are only four Gym Leaders confirmed for the Galar region. Allister and Bea, and then we have Nessa the Water-type Gym Leader and Milo the Grass-type Gym Leader.

Allister and Bea being version exclusives make them the first Gym Leaders to have this distinction since Black and White. However, in those games trainers either faced Drayden or Iris depending on their version but they had the team. This will be the first time a different Gym Leader using a different type of Pokémon will be locked behind a particular version.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will release November 15.
