Legendary Pokémon in 'Sword and Shield' Crown Tundra DLC Will Have 100% Catch Rate

The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield will give trainers more Pokémon to catch, and battles to face. One of the new battles features is called Dynamax Adventure, a beefed-up version of the Dynamax Raids players have become accustomed to since the Gen 8 games released in 2019.

These Dynamax Adventures will be how trainers catch Legendary Pokémon in the Crown Tundra, and now we know more information about how they work.

According to the October 17 episode of Japanese Pokémon variety show Pokecnhi--via Serebii--trainers will need to face off against a set number of Dynamax Pokémon in a row to get to a Legendary Pokémon.

Trainers in the Crown Tundra will take on three Dynamax Pokémon in a row before having to choose which path to take to make it to a Legendary Pokémon. Any HP and PP you use will not replenish after each battle, to give Dynamax Adventures a higher difficulty level. However, you can find characters and berries on the paths you choose that can heal your team.

Once you've finally found a Legendary Pokémon and defeated it, you will have a 100 percent chance of capturing it. However, like other Pokémon games, these Legendary Pokémon can only be caught once.

Dynamax Adventures seem to be the difficult post-game content that Pokémon fans have been craving for. During these adventures, trainers will team up with three others, but they won't go in with their own Pokémon team, trainers will have to choose a rental team.

After catching a Dynamax Pokémon along your adventure, one of the trainers will have the ability to swap out a member of their rental team with it. If you lose a battle along the way, you'll be ejected from the Dynamax Adventure to start from the beginning.

There will also be Endless Dynamax Adventure, where trainers will continuously battle in Max Raids until they lose.

As for which Legendary Pokémon you'll be able to catch, The Pokémon Company is boasting that trainers can catch all of the rare and powerful Pokémon from past games in either the Crown Tundra overworld or in Dynamax Adventures. Some of the Legendary Pokémon will be version exclusive, however, but at this time we're not sure which can be caught in Sword and which can be caught in Shield.

Here's a list of all the Legendary Pokémon that you'll be able to find in The Crown Tundra DLC:
