'Pokémon Sword and Shield' CoroCoro Leak Reveals Name of New Attack

Following the new trailer and information drop for Pokémon Sword and Shield the latest issue of Japanese magazine, CoroCoro revealed the name of a new attack.

Back in April, CoroCoro held a contest for its readers to name a brand new attack that would be known as "the most powerful Steel-type Move." Serebii has confirmed in the latest issue of the magazine that the winning name was selected and can be translated as either "Do or Die" or "Exhaustive Beam." The name is a pun on two different Japanese phrases so it's likely that the English name will be different.

Take a look at the clip showing the new Pokémon Duraludon using this new attack.

This new attack will have a base power of 140. It's a special attack and has the following effect: "Does major damage but reduces user's Hit Points by 50 percent."

The effect of this "ultimate" Steel-type attack is similar to Blacephalon's signature attack, Mind Blown, a Fire-type special attack that deals 150 damage and inflicts massive damage to the user. The above clip shows Duraludon taking massive damage after using the move on Tyranitar.

Currently, only Duraludon is confirmed to be able to use this attack but it could be distributed to others.

Duraludon is a Steel and Dragon-type Pokémon revealed in the July 8 Sword and Shield trailer. It has the abilities Light Metal and Heavy Metal, making it lighter or heavier than usual based on its ability.

Here's more information on Duraludon from the official Sword and Shield site:

The metal composing its body is incredibly durable but also surprisingly light. It only weighs about 88 lbs. in total. Thanks to this, Duraludon can move quite quickly in spite of its appearance. Its body is weak to corrosion, however, and is known to rust easily.

Duraludon live in caves and mountainous areas. Their two arms have slightly different shapes from each other, and they use these to grind down rock surfaces for food. They share their habitat with Tyranitar, and these two Pokémon are often seen battling each other in the mountains of the Galar region.

Since Duraludon can go one-on-one with Tyranitar, there's a chance that this new Pokémon will be the pseudo legendary of the Galar region.

Alcreamie and Rolycoly were the other two new Pokémon revealed alongside Duraludon in the July 8 trailer.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will release November 15.
