In July, The Pokémon Company is distributing two more Legendary Pokémon to continue its celebration of some of the most powerful creatures in the franchise. Tornadus and Thundurus from Gen 5 will be distributed through participating Target stores across North America.
Starting July 13, Pokémon trainers can head to their local Target and receive a code for either Thundurus or Tornadus and download them into their Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Sun or Moon game.
The version of the game you input the code into will determine the Pokémon that will be distributed. Trainers looking for Thundurus need to use the code in their Pokémon Sun or Ultra Sun game.
If you use it for Pokémon Ultra Sun, Thundurus will come at Level 100 and holding a Gold Bottle Cap. It will come with the ability Prankster and the moves Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Grass Knot and Nasty Plot.
Trainers who input the code into Pokémon Sun will get a Thundurus at Level 60 with the ability Prankster and attacks Discharge, Crunch, Charge and Nasty Plot.
Tornadus will only be available for Pokémon Ultra Moon or Pokémon Moon players. Downloading on Ultra Moon will give players a Tornadus at Level 100 and holding a Gold Bottle Cap. It comes with the ability Prankster and the attacks, Hurricane, Heat Wave, Grass Knot and Tailwind.
Moon players will receive a Tornadus at Level 60 with the Prankster ability and the attacks, Air Slash, Crunch, Tailwind and Rain Dance.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD THUNDURUS AND TORNADUS
If you're in the U.S., head to your local Target location and ask for a code from the front desk. No purchase is necessary to obtain a card containing the Tornadus/Thundurus code, so simply ask for one.
- Open your Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, or Pokémon Ultra Moon game.
- Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.
- Select Receive Gift.
- Select Get with Code/Password, then Yes, then Yes again to connect to the internet.
- Enter your code.
- Watch as the Legendary Pokémon arrives in your game.
- Speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to receive your Legendary Pokémon.
- Be sure to save your game.
