In conjunction with the timing of the LA Auto Show, Porsche unveiled both the 718 Cayman GT4 RS and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
The RS model is a sporty, street legal performance model while the Clubsport is meant to stay on the race track.
Several design changes have been implemented to accommodate the performance focus of the GT4 RS. Small windows that would usually be present on the driver and passenger side have been replaced with air intakes. The side intakes in the rear quarter panels have been adjusted to meet the car's greater cooling demands.
Carbon fiber-reinforced plastic has been used to build the front fenders and hood to adhere to the focus on lightweight construction. The door panels are outfitted with fabric door opening loops and storage nets.
The fixed rear wing on the GT4 RS features swan neck mounts and aluminum supports.
With the optional Weissach package, the front luggage compartment lid, process air intakes, cooling air intakes, air box lid, exterior mirror caps and the rear wing are built from carbon fiber.
On the Clubsport, natural fiber composites are present throughout the body's design on the front lid, the doors, rear wing, fenders and other aerodynamic parts.
A GT4 RS-specific damper setup was given to the adjustable suspension as well as adjusted spring and anti-roll bar rates.

Enhanced for the track, the Clubsport's suspension was revised for a higher level of responsiveness. Shock absorbers, ride height, camber and toe are all adjustable.
For tracks with noise limits, Porsche offers two exhaust systems on the Clubsport.
Using the naturally aspirated flat-six engine that comes in the 911 GT3 cup car, the GT4 RS puts out 493 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. An exclusive seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) is built to change gears quickly, contributing as much to the performance of the car as possible.
The setup allows for a zero to 60 mph time of 3.2 seconds.
Under the Clubsport's hood, a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine paired with the PDK generates 500 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque.
With the Weissach package, the upper section of the dashboard is upholstered with Race-Tex.
Natural fiber composites were used to build the Clubsport's steering wheel.
The Clubsport's interior features a welded-in roll cage, an adjustable Recaro racing seat, a fire extinguisher and a built-in air jack system.
Porsche's stability management system is track-tuned to give the Clubsport traction control, anti-lock brakes and updated stability control.
Porsche Design has created a Chronograph 718 Cayman GT4 RS watch that will be offered exclusively to GT4 RS buyers.
