Powerball Results, Numbers for 11/20/19: Did Anyone Win the $80 Million Jackpot on Wednesday (Last) Night?

The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday (last) night's draw were 07, 15, 39, 40, and 57. The Powerball was 12 and the Power Play was X2. The Powerball jackpot was an estimated $80 million with a cash option of $54.8 million, but did anyone win the lottery last night?

Nobody matched all five balls and the power ball needed to win the jackpot, nor did anyone match all five balls to win a $1 million prize. Therefore, the jackpot will roll over to Sunday night's draw and is now estimated to be worth $90 million with a cash value of $61.7 million.

However, nine people matched four balls and the Powerball, which has a prize value of $50,000. Five people matched four balls, the Powerball, and used the Power Play so the prize was doubled to $100,000.

Matching four balls results in a $100 prize, which 204 people won last night, with 53 people playing with the Power Play and doubling their prize to $200. Players can also win $100 by matching three balls and the Powerball, which 547 people did, with 175 people doubling their prize money using the Power Play.

How to play the Power Ball lottery?

Players can purchase a Power Ball ticket for $2 from any licensed lottery retailer. They then choose five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls and one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball. Players can choose the numbers or have the lottery terminal randomly select them.

There are nine ways to win a prize, from the jackpot down to $2. The jackpot starts at $40 million and increases each draw if it is not won.

What are the odds of winning the lottery?

The odds of winning a prize on the lottery are always 1 in 24.9 no matter the size of the jackpot nor how many entries there are. The odds are calculated by combining the odds for both sets of numbers and across all prize levels.

What happens when you win the lottery?

When a player wins the jackpot, they can claim the prize either as an annuity which comprises one lump sum followed by 29 annual graduated payments or as one cash payment which is of lesser value than the total estimated jackpot.

Players can only claim prizes within the state they purchased their ticket and prizes of $600 or more can be claimed at lottery offices. The time limit for claiming a prize depends on the lottery jurisdiction but is typically between 90 days and one year.

A winner's right to remain anonymous also depends on the lottery jurisdiction as some jurisdictions are required by law to provide the winner's personal details to a third party who requests the information.
