Powerball Has 2 Jackpot Winners, 11 More Millionaires in $630 Million Drawing

The Wednesday night Powerball drawing for the $630 million revealed there will be a split between two winners for the grand prize and multiple new millionaires in the second prize.

The $630 million jackpot was the seventh highest in the game's history. The game increased by more than $90 million in just two days since the Monday drawing.

There were two tickets from Wednesday's drawing that matched all five white balls and the red Powerball for the grand prize. Those two tickets sold—one each in California and Wisconsin—will split the grand prize.

Here are the winning numbers from the Wednesday 01/05/22 drawing:

  • First Five: 06-14-25-33-46
  • Powerball: 17
  • Power Play: 2x

There were at least 11 more people who hit the first five white balls, and minus the red Powerball, for the game's second prize. Although the total number of second prize winners hasn't been released, the states where tickets have been bought has been announced on the Powerball website.

Two second prize tickets sold—one each in Florida and Georgia—are worth $2 million since they purchased the Power Play for an extra $1.

There were second prize tickets worth $1 million in nine states that did not purchase the Power Play. They were sold in Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.

The Powerball game will now reset to the $20 million minimum for the Saturday 01/08/22 drawing.

Wednesday's prize was the first Powerball jackpot won since the October 4, 2021 drawing for $699.8 million. That lone ticket was sold in California. That prize is the fifth largest in Powerball history.
