Just like the Mega Ball lottery jackpot, now the largest ever at $1.6 billion, the Powerball jackpot is going higher. With no jackpot winner in the Saturday night 10/20/18 drawing for $470 million, the Powerball jackpot now climbs to an estimated $620 million for the next drawing on Wednesday, October 24 (the cash option is $354 million).

Combining with the Mega Millions jackpot of $1.6 billion, with its next drawing on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, that's a total of more than $2.2 billion that could be won next week in America's two big lottery games.

Those winning tickets were sold in Tennessee and Florida. Other $1 million tickets were sold in Arizona, Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, and Washington.

Powerball tickets are $2 and the purchase deadline is 9:45 p.m. ET in most states on the drawing day. Powerball drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, the next Mega Millions jackpot has grown to become the largest in U.S. history, at $1.60 billion (with a cash option payout of $904 million). As one of America's two large multi-state lottery games in addition to Powerball, the upcoming Mega Millions drawing is on Tuesday, 10/23/18.

Tickets are $2 to play and much be purchased by 10:45 p.m. ET in most states. The drawing will be held at 11 p.m. Tuesday night. The Mega Millions lottery is held in 44 states and Washington, D.C. and the U.S Virgin Islands.

The large Mega Millions jackpots have created lottery fever in America and long lines were common at retailers throughout the county to purchase tickets before the most recent Mega Millions drawing on Friday night. Powerball previously had the jackpot record, at $1.586 billion in January of 2016. Several winners shared in that prize from California, Florida, and Tennessee.
