To participate in the Powerball lottery, purchase a ticket for $2 from a licensed lottery retailer. Choose your numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. You can choose your numbers on a payslip or have the lottery terminal randomly select your numbers for you.

As grocery stores may be affected by stay at home orders, your usual lottery retailer may be operating on restricted hours or could be closed. Additionally, as stay at home orders vary by state, follow your local government's guidelines before leaving the house unnecessarily.

Some states allow you to purchase lottery tickets online, so check with your state's lottery website to see if this is an option.
