The winning numbers in the Powerball lottery draw on Wednesday night were 11, 33, 44, 59, and 67, the Powerball was 8 and the Power Play was X3.

The Powerball jackpot was an estimated $343 million, with a cash option of $233.3 million, but did anyone win the grand prize in last night's Powerball drawing?

Nobody won the Powerball jackpot, as nobody matched all five balls and the Powerball. Therefore, the jackpot in Saturday night's draw is an estimated $373 million with a cash option of $253.7 million. This figure could increase depending on how many people buy tickets before the draw on January 25.

While nobody won the jackpot, two people, from Michigan and South Carolina, matched five balls and won $1 million each. Additionally, 23 people won $50,000 each by matching four balls and the Powerball, and a further five people multiplied their prize to $150,000 by using the Power Play.

More than 2,000 people won $100, either by matching four balls or three balls and the Powerball. Nearly 500 additional people won $300 by using the Power Play. More than 1.1 million people won smaller prizes ranging from $4 for matching just the Powerball to $21 dollars for matching three balls and using the Power Play.

Powerball drawing days and what time is the Powerball draw?

The Powerball lottery drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday night at 11 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions lottery drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 11 p.m. ET. Players can purchase tickets up to one or two hours before the draw, depending on the lottery jurisdiction.

How to play the Powerball lottery? What is the Power Play?

Firstly, players must purchase a Powerball ticket for $2 per play and they have the option of purchasing a Power Play for an additional $1 per play. Players must choose five numbers between one and 69 for the white balls and one number between one and 26 for the Powerball, and these numbers can either be chosen by the player or randomly by the lottery terminal.

The Power Play is randomly selected just before the drawing and will multiply the prizes by either two, three, four, five or 10 times, when it is in play. The Power Play does not affect the jackpot, and the $1 million prize is doubled to $2 million using the Power Play, regardless of whether it is X2, X3, X4, X5, or X10.

The lottery is available to play in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Powerball lottery is currently banned in Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, and Utah. However, Mississippi residents will be able to purchase lottery tickets from January 30, 2020.

What happens when you win the Powerball jackpot?

When somebody wins the Powerball lottery jackpot, they must claim their prize at an official lottery office within the same jurisdiction as the ticket was purchased. Then, the winner has the option of claiming the prize as an annuity, which is made up of one initial payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments, or as a cash option, which is of a lesser value but is paid in one go.
