# Powerball Results, Numbers for 12/18/21: Did Anyone Win the \$353M Jackpot?

The Powerball numbers on Saturday were 2, 6, 24, 51 and 61. The Powerball was 1 and the Power Play was 2X.

But no one has won the \$353 million jackpot in the December 18 drawing, according to the Powerball website, meaning the top prize will continue to grow. It will be an estimated \$363 million—with a cash value of \$265 million—for the next Powerball drawing on Monday.

Although the jackpot wasn't won, there were some big prize winners in Saturday's draw.

A player from Texas correctly guessed five white balls with the Power Play to win \$2 million.

Meanwhile, 16 players matched four white balls and the Powerball to win \$50,000 each, with three more people doubling their winnings to \$100,000 with a Power Play purchase.

Another 493 players also matched four white balls to win \$100, with 132 winning \$200 each thanks to their Power Play purchase.

The last time the Powerball jackpot was won was in October when a player from California scooped a prize worth almost \$700 million. The player had the choice between receiving an estimated annuity of \$699.8 million, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump-sum payment of \$496 million.

The winning ticket for that drawing was purchased at Albertsons in Morro Bay. That retailer received a maximum bonus of \$1 million for selling the winning ticket, according to the Powerball website.

The win was the 41st drawing in the jackpot run, which had been rolling over steadily for four months after a player from Florida scooped a \$268 million jackpot in June. Before that, the jackpot had not been won since March 27 when another player from Florida won a \$238 million prize.

## How to play Powerball

Powerball tickets are \$2 per play, with players selecting five numbers from 1 to 69, in addition to one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. In certain circumstances, players can also multiply non-jackpot prizes by using the Power Play option for an additional \$1.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the lottery studio located in Tallahassee, Florida.

Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment. Both advertised prize options are prior to federal and jurisdictional taxes.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9, according to the Powerball websites. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. "Even if there are more tickets sold in a particular drawing, your odds of winning a prize are the same," the website states.
