# Powerball Results, Numbers for 3/3/21: Did Anyone Win the \$123 Million?

The winning numbers in Wednesday night's Powerball draw were 21, 40, 44, 50, and 55, and the Powerball was 16. Wednesday's Powerball jackpot was an estimated \$123 million with a cash option of \$86.1 million, but did anyone win the lottery?

No players matched all five numbers and the Powerball so the jackpot will roll over to Saturday night's draw where it will be worth an estimated \$138 million with a cash option of \$96.6 million.

Not only did nobody win the Powerball jackpot last night but nobody matched five numbers to win \$1 million either. However, nine people matched four numbers and the Powerball and each won \$50,000. Another two players did the same but used the Power Play, which was 3X, and won \$150,000 each.

More than 250 players matched four numbers and won \$100 each, while 80 players matched four numbers using the Power Play and won \$300 each. Additionally, more than 700 players also won \$100 each but by matching three numbers and the Powerball, while more than 200 did the same using the Power Play.

Nearly 33,000 players won \$7 by matching either three numbers or two numbers plus the Power Ball, while nearly 10,000 players won \$21 doing the same, but using the Power Play.

Finally, nearly 400,000 players won \$4 by matching either one number and the Powerball or just the Powerball while nearly 120,000 players won \$12 by doing the same but using the Power Play.

The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday, March 6, when the jackpot will be worth an estimated \$138 million. To take part in Saturday's draw, purchase a ticket for \$2 per play.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. While some of the money from ticket sales is entered into the jackpot, more than half of the proceeds from a ticket sale remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was purchased.

When purchasing a ticket, players must select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26.

There is also the option of adding the Power Play to a ticket for an additional \$1 per play, which will multiply prizes won by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times, excluding the jackpot. Plus, the match five with Power Play prize is always \$2 million. Then 10X multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot is worth \$150 million or less.

If the jackpot is won, the winners can choose to either receive the prize as an annuity paid in 30 graduated annual payments or as one lump sum in cash. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9 while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
