Powerball Results, Numbers for 06/26/19: Did Anyone Win the $123 Million Jackpot on Wednesday (Last) Night?

The Powerball jackpot on Wednesday night reached $123 million, so did anyone manage to take home the big prize?

The winning numbers for the draw were 01-05-16-22-54. The Power Ball was 24 with a Power Play of 3x, according to the Powerball website.

While there were no winners of the jackpot, there was one winner of the Match 5, netting the lucky person $1 million.

However by the time the next draw takes place on Sunday, June 30, the jackpot will have ballooned to $137 million, making it nearly a month since the last jackpot was won.

On June 1, Charles W. Jackson Jr became the biggest winner in North Carolina's history when he walked away with $344.6 million by matching all six numbers.

The 66-year-old later revealed that he had chosen the numbers using a fortune cookie from a Vietnamese restaurant that his granddaughter had given him.

"You play to win, but you never really expect to win the whole dang pot," he told lottery officials.

Dawn Zendt, of Shelby Township, has spoken of her joy at netting a $1 million Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery.

The clerk at the gas station she visited on the weekend alerted her to the big prizes on offer and she bought 10 tickets for both the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots.

"As I turned to leave the clerk reminded me to grab my tickets because I had set them on the counter...I checked my tickets Sunday morning and I was in awe," she said.

How do you play Powerball?

Powerball draws are broadcast live from the lottery studio in Tallahassee, Florida every Wednesday and Saturday nights at 10:59 p.m. ET.

Tickets are sold in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, making it one of the most widely played lottery games in the country.

Costing $2 per play, players pick five numbers from 1 to 69 as well as one Powerball number between 1 and 26.

Players can also multiply any non-jackpot prizes using the Power Play option for an additional $1 per go in certain circumstances.

Powerball's website says that the odds of winning a prize in every draw is roughly one in 25, whatever the jackpot prize is.

Unsurprisingly, with such big prizes at stake, there are scams to be wary of.

The N.C. Education Lottery has warned the public about fake email and social media from scammers claiming to be North Carolina's Powerball jackpot winner.

The scammer offers to make a $4 million donation to an organization but not before the victim deposits $500 into an account.

Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery said, according to the Powerball website: "Unfortunately, scams like these are all too common.

"Anyone who makes a promise of a donation or prize but wants you to give money first is trying to trick you. Never give your money or personal information to these people."
