Heavily Pregnant Mom and Unborn Baby Die after Woman Cut Child out of Womb

A heavily pregnant woman in Texas and her unborn baby have died after another woman cut the baby out of her womb, authorities said.

The victim was 22 and almost eight months pregnant, The Texarkana Gazette reported. Her baby did not survive.

Authorities have yet to identify the deceased woman, but online fundraisers named her as Reagan Hancock, of New Boston.

Police said officers had responded to an address in the 200 block of Austin Street in New Boston after a 911 call on Friday morning. "Upon arrival, a deceased female was discovered inside a residence," the New Boston Police Department said in a news release.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that an unborn child had been removed from the victim's body.

They added that a woman was later taken into custody by authorities in Oklahoma. She is yet to be identified.

According to KLTV, the suspect had shown up at a hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma with the fetus, who later died there. She was later charged with the kidnapping and murder of an unborn child. More charges are expected, the station reported.

The New Boston Police Department said the Texas Rangers are now investigating the incident. No other details were immediately provided. The police department and the Texas Rangers have been contacted for additional comment.

Meanwhile, friends set up a Facebook fundraiser and Paypal account to help the Hancock family, which have amassed tens of thousands of dollars in donations so far.

Hancock and her unborn baby "were selfishly killed by someone Reagan considered a friend," according to the description on the Paypal page.

"We are trying to raise money for Homer and their daughter. Homer has been around racing for many years and is the man behind our outlaw lawn care. Let's rally together and raise enough money to take any stress off him for any and all expenses that will occur." The organizers of the fundraisers have been contacted for comment.

Reagan and Homer Hancock had been married since September last year, her Facebook profile shows. Their baby was due on November 10, according to a baby registry page on The Bump.

In a post on Facebook in August, Reagan Hancock said she was expecting a baby girl who the couple had named Braxlynn Sage.

"Some of you know, some of you don't... but we are having another SWEET BABYGIRL come November the 10th (give or take)," she wrote. "She already acts like her daddy & big sister. We cannot wait for our Braxlynn Sage to be here. Daddy is definitely outnumbered."
