Most people have a few cards to remember their fifth birthday by, or perhaps a special present. This isn't the case for His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

As the third in line to the British throne, the young prince is getting his own line of commemorative silver £5 coins, embossed with an illustration of the legendary character St George. Not bad for a five-year-old.

Despite lavish moves such as this, Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, try to keep their son's life as normal as possible.

Prince George, as well as his two younger siblings Charlotte and Louis, rarely make public appearances, even at official state events.

George spent most of his early years at the Anmer Hall residence in rural Norfolk, away from the bustle of Buckingham Palace.

The family now lives mostly in London, where George attends Thomas's Battersea, a $24,000-a-year preparatory school.

Only one cameraman and one photographer were at the school to document Prince George's first day following a plea for privacy from his father, whose own first school day was a media frenzy.

It's understandable why the Royals are protective of George—Harry and William have spoken about the traumatic intrusion of the press into their own lives. George was also recently the target of an Isis-linked plot that threatened his life.

Despite his parents' reticence, George has already made quite a splash in the public sphere. As a toddler, he was ranked number 49 on GQ's "Best Dressed Men in Britain" list in 2015, after he stole hearts with his chubby cheeks and dungarees.

The rare photos of George have been fawned over by the public, who have praised his coordinating outfits and cheeky smile, ensuring that he's already a popular royal. From his birth to the recent christening of Prince Louis, we've collected the most adorable pictures of the young prince so far.
