Prince William's Fathers' Day Photo Recalls Similar Photo From Past

Prince William has delighted royal fans with a new family photo posted to his Twitter page, reminiscent over a picture he took with his father, Prince Charles.

The Duke of Cambridge posted an image of himself and his three children, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.

"Wishing a Happy Father's Day to fathers and grandfather across the world today." he captioned the image.

The photo was taken during a family holiday in Jordan last fall, according to an Independent report. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also used a similar photograph for their official 2021 Christmas card.

All three of his children can be seen laughing and smiling at the camera with their mouths open while Prince Louis sits atop his father's shoulder. The photos has managed to capture the hearts of fans with its informal nature, similar to another family photo with Prince Charles and his brother Prince Harry.

Prince Charles shared this picture on his Twitter page to mark the day, alongside two other photos.

In the photo, a young Prince William and Prince Harry can be seen lying on their father, with Prince Harry pulling a face and Prince William looking off in the distance.

Prince Charles is see smiling and looking forward while wearing knee high socks and a kilt. Both pictures showing a very light-hearted and informal view of the Royal Family.

Earlier this week, royals fans were delighted by more formal pictures of Prince William and Kate Middleton as the pair stepped in for the Queen as the principal members of the royal family attending the Royal Ascot races on Friday.

The Cambridges led the traditional carriage procession along Ascot racecourse, a position which until the COVID-19 pandemic had been taken by the Queen, who is a passionate horsewoman.

William and Kate's premiere position on the fourth day of the racing event comes as the 96-year-old queen has reduced her number of public appearances after a series of health scares last fall, and what Buckingham Palace have officially called "episodic mobility problems."

The Queen recently celebrated a weekend of events marking her Platinum Jubilee, however, her health caused her to miss all but two public appearances, the opening and closing balcony gatherings at Buckingham Palace.

After the first of these appearances, following the Trooping the Colour, Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen experienced "some discomfort" and would not be in attendance at the national service of thanksgiving the following day.

This was the only Jubilee event where the public were able to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle take part since they moved to the U.S. in 2020.
