Queen to Get New Great-Grandchild as Royals Reveal Princess Beatrice Is Pregnant
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their first child—after months of crisis and mourning for the royal family.
The child is set to become Queen Elizabeth II's twelfth great-grandchild, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's second child due over the summer.
The palace said the couple are "very pleased" while the queen and wider royal family are "delighted."
The happy news gives the royals something to celebrate after a difficult period which saw Prince Philip's death last month.

Prince Harry and Meghan's Oprah Winfrey interview also plunged the family into a transatlantic crisis with allegations of racism against an unnamed royal.
A Buckingham Palace statement read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.
"The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."
Amid the chaos and mourning it has been a year to celebrate for the York family with sister Princess Eugenie giving birth to her first in February.
August Philip Hawke Brooksbank was born weighing 8lbs 1oz just before 9am on February 9, making Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson grandparents.
Eugenie shared a photo of her baby on February 20 on her Instagram account.
She wrote: "We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.. 💙💙💙
"Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express.
"We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.
"📸 By our wonderful midwife. Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy."
Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi got married during the pandemic in a scaled down wedding at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor.
The media were not invited and the only photos were official portraits released by Buckingham Palace which showed the happy couple standing socially distanced from the queen and Prince Philip.
At the time the Royal Family posted on Twitter: "Congratulations to HRH Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi! #JustMarried #RoyalWedding
