YouTuber ProJared Cheats on Wife, Allegedly Sends Nudes to Underage Fans

YouTuber Jared Knabenbauer, known as ProJared, had multiple allegations of infidelity and fan-grooming go public recently. On Wednesday night, Knabenbauer he told his Twitter followers that he"would be getting a divorce" from his wife Heidi O'Ferrall. He claims that "Heidi's privacy, mental well being and discretion has and will remain my highest priority." This tweet seemingly caught O'Farrell off guard, who had already been blocked on the social media platform by her former husband.

O'Farrell lobbed a number of accusations against Knabenbauer over multiple Twitter threads, including cheating on her with content creator Holly Conrad, known as Commander Holly. "I have proof," she tweeted. "Explicit conversations and photographs of their relationship, which he extensively lied to me about on many occasions." O'Farrell describes herself getting "gaslit" by Knabenbauer about his infidelity, "insisting that the only thing wrong with our marriage was me" even after he was caught, she tweeted.

Conrad was formerly married to animator and Game Grumps contributor Ross O'Donovan (who has remained quiet on social media). She responded to Knabenbauer's original statement on Twitter, writing "I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm here for you if you need me." After receiving a massive amount of internet backlash, she posted a follow-up saying "this isn't anyone's business but there's (sic)."

Chris Perkins, who runs a Dungeons and Dragons podcast with Conrad and Knabenbauer, has also remained silent on the accusations.

Knabenbauer's YouTube network Normal Boots has not yet released a statement ( Newsweek reached out for comment) but a few prominent members of the community have spoken out. YouTuber Forrest Furst responded to Knabenbauer's statement with "love you bud." Peanut Butter Gamer, best known for making video game YouTube videos, responded to O'Farrell's original tweet with "this ain't it chief." He soon deleted the post, but remained adamant that this divorce and drama should "have remained private."

In another Twitter thread, O'Farrell says that Knabenbauer ran a Tumblr blog for fans to send nude photographs to and that he had been sending nude pictures of himself to fans. Nudes of Knabenbauer have begun to appear online alongside stories of him "grooming" underage fans. @ChaiTemporary on Twitter shared their story, claiming that the pair had exchanged nude images even though Chai was 16 at the time. "We spoke sexually," Chai wrote. "He sent me pictures of him in cosplay with his dick very visible." Chai did send an email to Normal Boots about their experience, with employee Jacque Khalil responding that they "take this matter very seriously."

Chai declined to share a comment with Newsweek.

The reddit sub for ProJared has turned on the content creator, becoming a hub for memes and posts about the scandal. Knabenbauer has been removed as a moderator and fans declared that the sub is now dedicated to YouTubers Scott The Woz and JonTron (who is a controversial figure that believes in racial profiling and ethnic cleansing). ProJared's YouTube subscriber count has also taken a hit, losing over 30,000 subscribers on YouTube in the past day according to Social Blade.

(UPDATE: May 9 11:00 p.m.): Normal Boots has released a statement condemning ProJared's actions, writing "Mr. Knabenbauer and NormalBoots have mutually agreed to part ways."

Newsweek will update this story with any new information.
