PS5 Restock Update for Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Target and More

There has been little movement in terms of PlayStation 5 restocks over the past week or so.

What's more, some industry analysts are speculating that this drought might continue throughout September. Retailers will soon need to begin stockpiling consoles for the holiday season and this will likely have an effect on the number of units they release in the meantime.

Here is a breakdown of all the latest PS5 restock information.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon was selling the PS5 digital edition on Thursday, September 2.

These supplies have now been depleted and there is no word on when the next drop will take place.

As always, you might stumble across a few second-hand PS5 units when browsing the online marketplace, but these will be invariably overpriced.

For instance, you can currently find a used console on Amazon for $860. With this being at the cheaper end of the spectrum, you are probably better off waiting for the next official restock.

GameStop PS5 Restock

Console tracker Matt Swider has predicted that GameStop could be selling PS5s within the next few days. Specifically, he has mentioned that a restock might occur at around 11 a.m. ET, most likely on a Tuesday.

If this turns out to be accurate (as most of Swider's forecasts are) you might want to consider joining GameStop's PowerUp Rewards Pro loyalty scheme. Lately, the retailer has been setting aside its PS5 supplies exclusively for these premium customers.

You can register as a PowerUp Rewards Pro member on GameStop's website for an annual fee of $14.99.

Walmart PS5 Restock

There is no official PS5 restock date for Walmart this week.

However, the merchant usually replenishes its inventory every other Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. If it continues to follow this fortnightly pattern, a drop should be due on September 9.

This is not guaranteed, but you should keep an eye on Walmart's website just to be sure.

Target PS5 Restock

Target's restock pattern has become highly unpredictable.

Sometimes the retail chain will coordinate nationwide drops (often on a Friday), while on other occasions it will allow individual stores to schedule their own restocks. This naturally makes it quite difficult to predict when you will next be able to order a PS5.

The best thing to do is check the merchant's website each morning, to see if any Sony consoles are available at nearby locations. You can narrow down your search results by using the ZIP code field.

You should also look out for nationwide restocks on Fridays, particularly between the hours of 7 a.m. ET and 8 a.m. ET. Console trackers including Swider have previously observed that this is a common time for the merchant's drops.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy is long overdue for a restock, as the outlet has not topped up its PS5 inventory since mid-August.

Industry analysts are predicting a drop some time this week, but there are no more details available right now.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

As per our last update, it is unclear when the next PS Direct restock will take place.

When Sony is about to open its virtual queue to the public, it will send invitations to a few randomly selected customers. These emails give the recipient a few days' notice about the restock (usually with a date and time) and word tends to get out quickly from there.

There have been no recent reports of any of these email notifications, indicating that the next PS Direct drop is still some way off.

Newegg PS5 Restock

There are no PS5s featured in today's Newegg shuffle—a lottery draw for popular items—but you can find a handful of units elsewhere on the site.

Newegg itself is not selling these consoles; they are being traded by third parties. As such, they are considerably more expensive than recommended retail price, with some consoles listed for upward of $1,000.

With that in mind, we would recommend that you wait for the next Newegg shuffle. PS5 consoles are included in these draws fairly frequently, so it hopefully will not be too long before you have another opportunity to buy one.

Antonline PS5 Restock

Antonline does not have any PS5s in stock at the moment, but it is selling the Xbox Series S.

The Microsoft console is currently available in several bundles. More information about these deals can be found in our latest Xbox Series X restock update.

Costco PS5 Restock

Customers are currently unable to buy either the disc or digital PS5 from Costco. To be alerted when the outlet restocks, follow the likes of @mattswider and @GYXdeals on Twitter.
