PUBG's new map, called Savage, has been in closed beta for about three days, but its developers at PUBG Corporation have recently opened the test to more players and additional giveaways. Beyond a server-side update, we've also learned Squads mode is coming soon. The game's official Twitter account revealed the news late Tuesday evening.
"We've heard your feedback and will be opening up Squad matches for the Savage Experimental Test Server soon," the tweet reads. For those who don't have access yet, the message also offers a link to the Beta Key Redemption page. Simply provide your Steam access credentials by pressing the "Authenticate With Steam" button. If you've been selected, you'll receive a key shortly thereafter.

In addition to the new map through official channels, several key giveaways have also started. GameSpot is currently running a promotion to release 2,200 Experimental Test Server Keys at 2 p.m. EDT today. Participation requires filling in a single entry form, while additional chances can be earned by following various PUBG and GameSpot social media accounts. USgamer is running a similar promotion for an additional 1,000 keys. Winners don't even need a full copy of PUBG to enjoy the map. This dispersal of keys arrives only a handful of hours into the Savage beta that's set to conclude April 8 at 7 p.m. EDT.
Adding more players is just one of a few changes PUBG Corp has already enacted to make Savage a better map. Last night's round of tweaks adjusted weapon spawn rates and zone times to offer more frantic gameplay. With any luck, you'll soon be able to experience it for yourself.
Even though PUBG's new map is the talk of the town, it's not the only major adjustment introduced to the game over the past few hours. On Tuesday morning, PUBG Corp also pushed a patch to the regular Test Server introducing a new mode that lets players spectate their killers.

PUBG's desert map never gained favor with the game's passionate community when it tested last December, but early impressions of Savage seem overwhelmingly positive. Those who have a key appreciate the map's fast gameplay and lack of clothing spawns. With more useful materials to collect, PUBG's gameplay loop has become more exciting than ever.
We'll provide more details on this story as it develops.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now on PC and in Game Preview on Xbox One. The new map is exclusive to PC for now.
