PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds took the world by storm in 2017, so 2018 is all about expanding that foundation to make it even bigger. In a new blog post, PlayerUnknown himself described his ambitions for new maps, modes vehicles and more. True to the game's early access roots, he wants fans to be part of the development process every step of the way.
Here's a recap of all the big news with expected arrival windows.

There's not a ton of info here regarding release windows for the updates, but it's abundantly clear that development on PUBG will continue in full force as we inch closer to spring. Starting in March, major content updates are set to arrive every two months. By the end of December, hopefully all of these items will be live on public servers.

The decision to offer greater player testing throughout the creation process will be a welcome announcement for gamers who've become estranged from the PUBG community in the face of games like Fortnite and Monster Hunter: World. Letting fans decide the fate of the Island map, for example, will go a long way toward soothing the saltiness over the Desert arena. With PUBG's record-setting player numbers on the decline, there's a clear intent here to put fans first.
PUBG is available now on PC and Xbox One. This roadmap mostly applies to PC, but it might also reflect some changes on console.
