PUBG update 29 doesn't completely overhaul the battle royale experience players have come to know and love, but it does make some exciting tweaks to the established formula. Over on Vikendi, for example, the loot pool continues to grow and offer more weapons at a faster rate than before. While the map's designers initially trimmed down loot amounts to emphasize its survival elements, this new setup seems like it'll be a lot more fun to play. The space itself is enjoyable to fight on, but these changes ensure players get to the fun part of matches with far less waiting.

On the smaller end of the spectrum, a few of the new UI elements are exciting as well. Features like Tactical Map Markers further enhance communication for Squads and Duos in all situations. Battle royale fans have expressed great praise for the detailed ping system popularized by Apex Legends, and this addition brings a large portion of that concept to PUBG. When it comes to matters of throwables, flare guns and parachuting, visual changes clarify what's otherwise been a bit muddy in the past. Assuming the Vikendi loot changes function as they should, PUBG update 29 is a solid quality-of-life patch with some nice improvements.

PUBG is available now on PC, Xbox One and PC. PUBG update 29 is exclusive to PC.
