Punky Brewster's 10 episodes were released on Thursday, February 25, 2021, when all 10 episodes will be available to stream at once on Peacock.

Peacock has distinguished itself as a streaming service among competitors like HBO Max, Netflix and Disney+ by having a free trier, with select shows and episodes available to watch online for nothing. To access the full catalog of Peacock, however, viewers will have to subscribe to one of two price tiers: a $4.99 a month one (or $49.99 a year) that gives access to all of Peacock with commercials, or a $9.99 a month tier (or $99.99 a year) without ads.

When it comes to the Punky Brewster reboot, currently the whole series is available on the streamer's free tier, as is all four seasons of the original show.

For viewers who also want to watch content that is behind the paywall like the Saved By the Bell reboot, The Office and Brave New World for free, both Peacock Premium tiers offer a seven-day free trial that will allow viewers a week to watch the show for nothing.

For viewers wondering what to expect from the reboot, the official Peacock synopsis reads, "Punky is a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self."

For an extra dose of '80s and '90s nostalgia, Frye is joined in the series by Family Matters star Cherie Johnson, who played Brewster's best friend Cherie in the original show, as well as '90s teen icon Freddie Prinze Jr., who is playing Brewster's ex-husband.

In the original series, her adopted father Henry was played by George Gaynes, who died in 2016 at the age of 98. To pay tribute to him, the new show sees Brewster living in his old house, with the original set recreated for this new Peacock Punky Brewster.

The new show also pays tribute to its past by having Cherie work for Fenster Hall, the foster home that Brewster escaped from in the original series.
