'Queens' Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Plot: What We Know About the New ABC Show
ABC is celebrating '90s and '00s hip hop with its new drama Queens, which is released this October.
The cast features two actual legends of the genre, with Eve and Brandy as two members of a '90s girl group who get the band back together 20 years after they break up.
Queens released its first trailer for the season back in May, which gave hip hop fans big throwback vibes and gave viewers the first idea of the show's plot.
Here's what you need to know about the ABC show, including its release date, cast, trailer and plot.
When is Queens out?
The series premiere of Queens is airing on ABC on Tuesday, October 19 at 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. CT, after the season premiere of Michelle Young's season of The Bachelorette. The remaining episodes will air weekly on Tuesdays in the same time slot.
The streaming home of the show will be Hulu. Episodes are set to come to the streamer on Wednesday mornings from 5 a.m. ET.
Who is the cast of Queens?
The show focuses on the fictional '90s hip hop quartet Nasty B*****s. Leading the group is '90s R&B star (and Moesha actor) Brandy as Naomi, who goes by the name of Xplicit Lyrics.
Brandy is not the only former hip hop star in the cast of the show. Joining her is "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" hitmaker and former The Talk host Eve as Brianna, aka Professor Se. As an actor, she starred in the much-mocked show Eve, famed for being a show called Eve where Eve herself played a character called Shelly.
Rounding out the Nasty B*****s are Power's Naturi Naughton as Valeria aka Butter Pecan and My Name is Earl's Nadine Velazquez as Jill aka Da Thrill. Also starring are Pepi Sonuga (The Fosters) and P-Valley's Taylor Sele.

What is Queens about?
The official ABC synopsis reads: "Queens follows a fractured girl group living in the shadows of their once prominent hip-hop dynasty. After their popularity skyrocketed with the success of their chart-topping single, "Nasty Girl," they were once regarded as one of the greatest girl groups of their generation. Despite critical and commercial success, the group was plagued by internal conflict and jealousy. Estranged and out of touch, the four women, now in their 40s reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had in the '90s when they were legends in the hip-hop world.
Is there a trailer for Queens?
The first promo for the show was released in May. It saw the band reuniting after two decades after they booked a performance at a major Black awards show. It also gave us a glimpse of their '90s heyday, with the band dancing on a yacht – as '90s music video fans will know, there was a time where it seemed like every rap video was set on a boat.
A longer trailer came in September and focused more on the group now. An early scene, for example, sees Eve's character get recognized by a fan in the parking lot before expressing shock at how far she has fallen since her glory days.
