'RHONYC' Season 11 Spoilers: Luann De Lesseps Updates Jill Zarin on Her Alcoholism Battle [WATCH]

Luann de Lesseps gets real about her battle with alcoholism on the upcoming episode of Real Housewives of New York City. The reality star started her journey towards sobriety following her second rehab stay in summer 2018 and has steered clear of alcohol since. However, she noted in an episode 12 sneak peek that the road to sobriety hasn't been an easy one to navigate.

"It's not easy. I can deal with people drinking, I can't deal with sloppy," Luann said to Jill in the clip. "You know because you don't drink."

Jill noted she doesn't drink because she believes she is allergic, prompting Luann to reveal how she's managed to avoid accepting adult beverages when offered. "Well, that's what I kinda say these days. I say I'm allergic to alcohol. It's like I can't drink, you know? Because the minute I drink one or two, I want the whole bottle," Luann said.

Noticing Jill's shocked expression by her admission, Luann continued to admit, "Yea, I drink a lot."

Although Luann said she didn't drink at home or hide alcohol, she still considered herself an alcoholic—just a "different" type of alcoholic.

"The reason I stayed that way was because most people wouldn't consider me an alcoholic at all. As you wouldn't because you know me," Luanna explained. "Listen, I have fun. I don't get too crazy… But one drink for me, throws me off."

She went on to tell the story of how she first realized she may have a drinking problem. "A doctor that's very close to me, he said, 'You know what? You're not pretty when you drink.' And I went, 'What?' He said, 'Yea, your face changes. And you're not pretty.' And you know what? I started looking at pictures of myself, and I saw a face that I didn't like," she said.

Luann first checked herself into a rehab facility for alcohol abuse following her arrest in Palm Beach, Florida on Christmas Eve in 2017. After she relapsed, the cabaret singer returned to rehab in 2018, causing her to miss the RHONYC season 10 reunion. Since then, she's remained sober and spends less time hanging out at parties where she may be tempted to drink.

While performing regularly and staying sober may be considerably difficult, Luann makes it work the best she can. "I get on the stage and that keeps me busy and it keeps me focused on my cabaret, and I get to put my creative energy into that and it keeps me out of trouble," she said to Us Weekly in a March interview.

"I'm just doing yoga and taking care of myself and hanging out less with people that are prone to partying," she continued, adding that it doesn't necessarily mean she "can't be around people that party" completely.

"I'm around the cabaret industry," she said. "I filmed an entire season without drinking. If you can get through Housewives without drinking, you can get through anything."

Real Housewives of New York City airs on Bravo on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
