Real-life 'Final Destination' as Tree Trunk Smashes Through Car Windshield

A driver was lucky to escape with his life when a giant log plunged through the windscreen of his car after breaking loose from the trailer of a truck in front.

Aaron Cox uploaded a video of the terrifying incident to TikTok on Saturday alongside the caption "Final Destination" in a reference to the cult horror film franchise.

In the movie, one particularly chilling scene shows an officer driving his patrol car behind a truck carrying a load of large logs.

As the officer notices a loose chain dragging along the road, the chains holding the logs to the truck's flatbed snap and the logs fall off, bouncing up from the ground, through the windshield and decapitating the officer. The fallen logs cause a catastrophic pileup on a highway and initiate a series of accidents where multiple other lives are lost.

Cox's video bears striking similarities to the 2003 movie, with the log piercing the windscreen and landing within inches from the steering wheel.

In the clip, the camera pans across the interior of a white van, showing shattered glass on the dashboard, before turning to the truck in front with the rest of the logs mostly still onboard.

"Final Destination ... literally!" a man's voice can be heard saying as the van remains pulled over on the freeway.

The short 20-clip does not appear to show any injuries to the driver or any possible passengers and there is no blood or other signs of trauma inside the vehicle.

It also remains unclear where and when the accident took place and whether any charges have been laid. Newsweek has contacted Cox for further details about the video.

Movie fans and horrified viewers alike rushed to share their thoughts on the clip, which has been watched more than 3.2 million times since it was uploaded on Saturday.

The clip drew so many comparison to the film that #FinalDestination began to trend on Twitter over the weekend.

"Final Destination taught me to never ride behind these trucks," one woman noted.

"I think about that movie every time I drive behind a log truck," another agreed.

"I will NEVER drive directly behind a log truck! Final Destination has taught this to all of us!" one movie fan added as another suggested the incident was "every millennials nightmare."
