Is 'Pitch Perfect 4' Happening? Rebel Wilson and Fellow Bellas Seemingly Tease New Film

The Barden Bellas may be back for more, ladies and gentlemen. Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson was joined by her fellow franchise stars in a photo Saturday, where they seemingly teased the possibility of a fourth installment.

Wilson, 38, tweeted a photo that featured Pitch Perfect castmates Brittany Snow, Anna Camp and Chrissie Fit. Wilson captioned the photo, which showed the quad holding up four fingers, with four heart emojis. While this could simply be a coincidence since there are four Pitch Perfect stars present for the picture, it could also indicate the Bellas cinematic journey isn't over yet.

Pitch Perfect surfaced as a sleeper hit in 2012. At the time of its debut, it drummed up a whopping $115.3 million at the worldwide box office, according to Box Office Mojo data. The musical comedy's initial success led to the development of two additional movies, being Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015 and Pitch Perfect 3 in 2017.

Pitch Perfect 2 reeled in $287.5 million globally, whereas Pitch Perfect 3 earned a respectable $184.7 million.

Marketing for Pitch Perfect 3, however, made it seem as if the franchise's third film would be its last. Posters for the threequel boasted the tagline, "Last Call, Pitches." By this point in the Pitch Perfect film universe, the Bellas had mostly graduated from Barden University. Spoiler alert, the film concluded with the Bellas mutually giving up their love of performing together as Becca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) decided to pursue a solo singing career with the help of DJ Khaled, of course.

Despite this, Kendrick has suggested Pitch Perfect 3 may not necessarily be the end of the Bellas.

"I mean, you know, it's not up to us. If it were up to us, it would be like, 4, 5, 6, 7," Kendrick, 33, said on Today in 2017. "We wanted to make it a satisfying ending—if it is the ending...Hopefully, we will get to work together again someday."

Kendrick, who last starred alongside Blake Lively in September's A Simple Favor, isn't the first Pitch Perfect star to express interest in making more installments. Before appearing in Wilson's Twitter photo, Snow shared her desire to potentially return for Pitch Perfect 4 on September 25.

"I think all of us would be game for it," Snow, 32, told "We have the best time filming those movies. We made some of our best friends during that franchise...part of us knows that chapter might be closed and is okay with that, but we are still incredibly close and we will probably make them—if they want us to—until the end of time."

Representatives for Universal Pictures declined to provide comment for Newsweek's report.
