While that second biggest retail launch may not sound as impressive as the other accolades, it's only because Rockstar couldn't best itself. The number one biggest retail launch is still, to this day, GTA V. GTA V was released on a Tuesday, which explains why it doesn't have the same volume of sales over a weekend period. Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on a Friday, meaning all its sales were technically on a weekend.

We don't have any official number of copies sold, but Rockstar has confirmed the release has generated more than $725 million in its first three days of release. For reference, GTA V raked in over $1 billion in three days. That's just crazy to think about.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.

So what do you think? Are you one of the millions who bought a copy of Red Dead 2 already? Will you pick up a copy for yourself eventually? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
