'Red Dead Online' Money Making Guide: Earn Cash For Hunting and Completing Missions
Items in Red Dead Online are surprisingly expensive. Unlike in the campaign, guns cost hundreds of dollars and even small customizations for your saddle are typically more than $20 each. That means you'll want to make as much money as possible, as easily as possible if you want to buy the best guns or a faster horse.
There are two reliable ways to earn money so far in Red Dead Online. The first is a time-consuming, but extremely effective, hack that requires you to start your game over again and again. If you want to actually continue with your character, you'll want the following tips for how to actually play and earn cash.
PLAY STORY MISSIONS
Like the Red Dead Redemption 2 campaign, one of the easiest ways to earn money in Red Dead Online is by completing story missions. They can be completed multiple times, which helps generate even more cash. LOOT EVERY CORPSE
You may only be picking up a few cents at a time, but all that change builds up quickly enough. Looting bodies can often reward you with items like watches that you can sell for even more money. Loot is shared, so if you are in a mission, and your partner loots all the bodies, you are out of luck.
TREASURE MAPS
Treasure maps mark a location on your in-game map to go search. Once at the location, use your Eagle Eye ability to make the treasure glow orange. Each treasure chest rewards you with a hefty sum of money, typically ranging from $50-100, along with an assortment of other goodies. Everyone is given a free treasure map at the start of Red Dead Online and when reaching Level 10. A treasure map can also be found when first completing the "Kill Them, Each and Every One" mission.
HUNTING
Like the campaign, selling animal pelts is a great way to earn money in Red Dead Online. Pelts are sold at Butchers, which are marked on the map with a cleaver icon. The same rules for hunting in Red Dead 2 apply to Red Dead Online, so make sure you use a knife or arrows to make the cleanest kill and earn the most from your pelts. And don't forget to check the rating next to the animal name. Only 3-star animals can give you perfect pelts, which are the most valuable.
