Original story below...

Red Dead Redemption 2's pre-order information has leaked, and it details the bonuses players earn by securing their copy in advance. This information comes from a screenshot posted to video game forum ResetEra by user Simo.

As the picture of the Microsoft Store website above shows, players who pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One will receive a war horse, an Outlaw survival kit, bonus money for RDR2's story mode, $500,000 in GTA$ and an exclusive Treasure Map. There are a few weird items in this list, so lets break down what each entry probably means.

The war horse is likely a special horse in Red Dead Redemption 2. It will almost definitely look unique compared to other horses in the game, and might have slightly different stats. It's unknown if horses have different stats at all, but if they do, this war horse will likely be a bit better than your standard equine.

The Outlaw survival kit is likely a small bundle of items, including an outfit. There might be a bonus weapon included, and maybe even some in-game consumables.

The bonus money for RDR2's story mode is pretty self-explanatory. It's interesting to see Rockstar providing monetary bonuses only for the story mode and not Red Dead Online. We know almost nothing about the promised online mode, but it looks like players cannot get an early advantage through pre-ordering.

The treasure map seems to point to an in-game mechanic or mini game about digging up lost riches, similar to the maps found in Red Dead Redemption. Based on the wording from the picture, it sounds like there will be a number of different treasure maps with an exclusive map coming to those who pre-order before Aug. 1. I'm guessing the treasure found by using these maps includes in-game money and maybe a weapon or two.

The last thing is the most straight-forward. GTA$500,000 for GTA Online, which might not be the biggest incentive for those who haven't played or don't own that game. That said, GTA 5 has sold more than 95 million copies, so the number of Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-orderers who don't own GTA 5 seems likely to be incredibly slim. The nice thing about this bonus is the money will be available immediately after placing the pre-order.

Like with any rumor, this information could be false. The Microsoft Store page for Red Dead Redemption 2 has since been changed, and this information can't be found anywhere else at this time. All we have is the image above, which could easily be faked. Also, this appears to be the pre-order information for the standard edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. We don't know if there will be special editions releasing alongside the standard edition, but this is video gaming in 2018, so the chances of a Gold Edition or something similar seems high.

So what do you think? Do these bonuses have you interested in pre-ordering Red Dead Redemption 2? Were you planning on pre-ordering anyway? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
