A rescue dog has gone viral for the unimpressed way they judge their owner when they return home.
The dog owner who posts under the username @dean_is_concerned shared an image of Dean the pup staring out the window, disgruntled. The post has racked up 7,900 views on Threads.
“Many people talk about their dogs' separation anxiety. I'd like to start a conversation about separation judgment. This is what I came home to,” they wrote.

What is Separation Anxiety?
According to the RSPCA, separation-related behaviour happens when a dog struggles with being left alone. Signs can range from obvious behaviours like barking, chewing and toileting indoors, to subtle ones such as pacing, trembling or refusing to eat. It stems from distress and usually begins shortly after the owner leaves.
What is 'Separation Judgment'?
Unlike anxiety, separation judgment is the humorous idea that some dogs don’t melt down when you leave — they simply judge you when you return. Instead of greeting you with excitement, they offer a cold stare that says: “We need to discuss your choices.”
The two images show a long shot and a close-up of the dog staring through the window as if in a stand-off, with his ears scraped back behind his head.

Threads users were quick to chime in.
"If 'do you know what time it is' was a face," said Ecko.
"Dropping off my fur sister after she spent the whole weekend with me. The look of abandonment," shared another user, attaching a photo of a dog peeking through a window blind.
"This is what I come home to every night. This is how she receives me, no tail wagging no love, pure judgement," said Criss, sharing a photo of their unimpressed pup.
"Our dog used to wait at the window– for hours if necessary… How I'd long to see him in the window again," said Pat.
"My dog has the same face. Get ready to hear ALL about it via angry barks when you walk through the door."
"I don't get the judgment stare from my two dogs. I just get the happy wiggly loves from them," said Vicki.
"Oh, dear. You have been judged and found wanting! But I think with enough treats you might be forgiven," joked another viewer.
