'Rick and Morty' Season 4 Release Date Announced for November

Rick and Morty Season 4 will premiere in November, it was announced at the WarnerMedia Upfront on Wednesday.

The release date was announced in a video featuring Rick and, of course, Morty, who was a bit too shy to make the announcement himself. "Rick and Morty is back," Rick said. "Brand new Season 4 in November 2019, this year. We're going to do it this year, 2019."

Co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland were also on hand for the announcement.

"Watch television!" Harmon said.

"We're excited for Rick and Morty more episodes, on Boomerang.com. Just kidding," Roiland said, in a promo for Boomerang from the Upfront. "We're very excited. We're working on them, they're going to be great."

Rick and Morty was renewed for 70 new episodes in May, 2018, which means the series will extend for years beyond the upcoming Season 4. We've seen a handful of glimpses inside the production, including hints pointing to a new "Interdimensional Cable" episode, glimpses inside the writers room and the first announced guest voice for the new season.

Previous seasons of Rick and Morty have premiered in the summer, but protracted negotiations over the show's renewal postponed production. With the series' notoriously lengthy writing process it's impressive that it's still landing in 2019 after the delay.
