When Will Rihanna Open Fenty Beauty Store? Singer Unveils First Shop in NYC

Fans of Rihanna's Fenty Beauty can rejoice as the popular brand is slated to open its first-ever pop-up shop Wednesday in New York City.

Rihanna, 30, launched Fenty Beauty LVMH's Kendo Brands in September 2017. In 40 days, it drummed up $100 million in sales. This subsequently led to the brand being listed as one of Time's best inventions of 2017. Nine months later, the company has continued to resonate with beauty aficionados eager to buy Rihanna's praised products, including the beloved long wear foundation.

Multiple Fenty Beauty pop-up shops will open around NYC temporarily from Wednesday to Friday between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET. It's opening in honor of the brand's new collection, Moroccan Spice. Moroccan Spice is expected to debut July 6, but fans can purchase the products early at the pop-up. The Pennsy is the brand's first stop Wednesday, it'll head to Pearl Street Triangle on Thursday and conclude at Seaport District NYC Friday.

One of the new collection's items, a black liquid liner, dubbed "Cuz I'm Black," was named after a comeback she made on social media in 2011. After a Twitter troll questioned why her hair looked "so nappy" in the cover art for her "Man Down" single, she uttered the response that has since become the inspiration behind her latest Fenty product's name.

Rihanna's claim to fame used to be singing, but she tackled acting in Ocean's 8 and Season 5 of Bates Motel. Her career burgeoned when she became an entrepreneur—namely with Fenty Beauty.

Rihanna's beauty line became a phenomenon not just because of her star power, but due to her aims to promote inclusivity in the makeup world. "Fenty Beauty by Rihanna was created for everyone: for women of all shades, personalities, attitudes, cultures and races," Rihanna said in a statement. "I wanted everyone to feel included. That's the real reason I made this line."

In May, Rihanna launched an equally inclusive lingerie label, called Fenty x Savage. The brand's first collection, which is under TechStyle Fashion Group (previously JustFab Inc.), sold out June 7. "Savage is really about taking complete ownership of how you feel and the choices you make," she told Vogue in May. "Basically making sure everybody knows the ball is in your court."

Representatives for LVMH and Rihanna didn't immediately return Newsweek's request for comment.
