The original Road House aired in 1989 and starred Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliot, Kelly Lynch and Ben Gazzara. It was a box-office hit and went on to become a cult classic, despite negative reviews from critics.

News of the reboot of the film surfaced in November 2021 and nine months later, the project has officially been given the green light.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Joel [Silver], Doug [Liman], and this great cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, and for them to come together to reimagine the classic MGM film as an action-packed adventure for our global audience."

Who Is in the Cast?

Oscar and Tony-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal will lead the cast of the Road House reboot.

At the moment, character details have been kept largely under wraps, but Gyllenhaal will portray a modern take on Patrick Swayze's James Dalton.

According to Variety, the re-imagined Road House sees Gyllenhaal take on the role of a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys.
