Video: Road Rage Driver Crushes Woman Between Two Cars, is Tasered by Police

Police in London are investigating a suspected road rage incident close to Buckingham Palace which left a woman with possible life-changing injuries.

Dramatic footage filmed from the scene of the crash shows bystanders helping a female victim after she appeared to have been crushed between a blue Range Rover and a black Mercedes.

Police believe the driver of the Land Rover purposely crushed the woman in her 40s. A 23-year-old male was arrested at the scene after officers deployed a Taser to help detain him.

Deepak Anand, 40, a Canadian tourist visiting the English capital, filmed the scene while travelling on a double-decker bus, describing it as an "Absolutely ridiculous accident," on Twitter. "[It] was a horrible scene for my wife and son to have witnessed," he added.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Anand said: "The woman had been crushed between the two cars. She was screaming in pain. The driver of the Range Rover tried to get away, but police Tasered him. I don't know why anyone would try to run in a situation like that. Police were there very quickly," he added.

"The woman had a young kid who looked like he was crying and shouting for help."

Witness said another passer-by jumped into the Land Rover to reverse it away from the woman after the driver attempted to flee the scene.

No one else was injured during the incident. Police said a second man who complained of feeling unwell at the scene was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a woman, in her mid-40s, was taken to a central London hospital for treatment; her condition has been assessed as non life-threatening but may be life-changing," London's Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

"Officers are investigating an allegation that a Land Rover was deliberately driven at the woman, trapping her against a Mercedes car.

"This Mercedes was then in collision with a stationary bus, there were no reports of anyone injured on the bus.

"A 23-year-old man, the suspected driver of the Land Rover, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray; a Taser was discharged by officers during the arrest.

"The arrested man did not require hospital treatment and was taken into custody, he was later further arrested on suspicion of GBH and driving whilst disqualified.

"He remains in custody at a central London police station."
