Roger Waters, 78, Marries for Fifth Time: 'I'm So Happy, Finally a Keeper'

Roger Waters has married for a fifth time, exchanging vows with his former chauffeur, Kamilah Chavis, at his estate in the Bridgehampton, New York.

The Pink Floyd rocker, 78, took to Twitter and Instagram to share photographs from his special day, as he declared in his caption: "I'm so happy, finally a keeper."

British-born musician Waters cut a dapper figure in a black suit and crisp white shirt, which he teamed with tasseled loafers, while opting to forgo a tie.

Chavis was resplendent in a semi-sheer white lace gown, which she cinched at the waist with a black belt and complemented with an array of gold jewelry.

Carrying a floral bouquet, the bride looked elated as she posed on a bridge overlooking the water's edge on the Hamptons estate, which Waters purchased in 2010 for $16.2 million, according to Page Six.

The newly married couple have kept their romance largely low-key, though they did hit the red carpet together ahead of a screening of the documentary Roger Waters Us + Them at the Venice Film Festival in 2019.

Waters also spoke candidly about his relationship with Chavis during a 2018 interview with Argentine news website Infobae.

When asked if there was somebody special in his life, the rocker said: "Yes, I have Kamilah. We are not married, but we have been together for a couple of years. And I am happy."

"I actually met her at one of my concerts a couple of years ago. She worked in transportation," he went on. "She was driving the car that was taking me.

"I was in one place for two weeks and there were many transfers between the hotel and the stadium. My bodyguard sat in the front with her and they talked, while I stayed in the back. I don't know, something about her attracted me."

Sharing how he struck up a conversation with her, he said: "One day I said, 'Excuse me,' and she turned around. 'Did someone ever tell you that you have beautiful cheekbones?' I saw a little reaction, and that was the beginning."

Elsewhere in the interview, Waters opened up about his past failed relationships as he admitted: "I have fought my whole life trying to understand women."

His first marriage was to childhood sweetheart Judith Trim, with whom he tied the knot in 1969. They divorced in 1975.

He then went on to marry Lady Carolyne Christie in 1976. They had two children—son Harry, who is now a musician, and daughter India, who has worked as a model. Waters and Christie divorced in 1992.

The same year as his second divorce, he took a third trip down the aisle, this time with Priscilla Phillips, with whom he shares a son, Jack. This marriage ended in 2001.

Waters would then propose to filmmaker Laurie Durning in 2004, though they didn't exchange vows until 2012. Their marriage broke down in 2015.

Looking back on his previous struggles to understand women, Waters told Infobae in his 2018 interview: "Do you know why I didn't understand them? Because I didn't have a father to explain how to do it. You need a man to teach you to be with them.

"I just understood their power and did what they asked me to do. I think this is the main reason why my love life has been so disastrous. I did not have a role model. I had my mother and aunts. There were no men."
