DeSantis' Scowl as Biden Mentions Climate Change Has Internet in Stitches

Social Media users were quick to make jokes at the expense at both President Joe Biden and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after a video of a speech appeared to show the latter pulling a face.

The pair met on Wednesday and spoke about the state's ability to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. The hurricane made landfall in Florida last week Wednesday as a Category 4 storm, with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, before it weakened over land.

While both praised the other, with Biden saying DeSantis' response was remarkable and DeSantis thanking the president for his swift action, one moment caught the eye of social media users.

During one snippet of Biden's speech, which has now gone viral, the president said that the severity of Hurricane Ian has ended the debate on whether climate change is a thing.

"The reservoirs out west are down to almost zero, we are in a situation where the Colorado river looks more like a stream, there is a lot going on," Biden said in the clip, which has now been viewed more than 325,000 times.

"The one thing I think this has finally ended is the discussion about whether or not there is climate change and we should do something about it."

As Biden speaks, DeSantis appears to hold a scowl and fidget throughout, which many social media users picked up on.

"Watch DeSantis when the words come out of Joe's mouth. The old man has shucked him like an oyster," Guardian columnist Van Badham tweeted.

"I was accused of *resting b*tch face* earlier today. DeSantis has me beat! Lol, I find this clip hilarious," journalist Kelly Sadler tweeted.

Some social media users also mocked DeSantis using other pictures from the event.

Actor and producer Andy Ostroy tweeted: "Caption please...
I'll start: 'I don't wanna be here... I don't give a sh*t about these people. I hate Biden... I just wanna be president."

Sharing the picture, singer Curtis Stigers wrote: "Biden: a President and a Leader. DeSantis: A cruel hateful petulant manchild,"

However, other Twitter users defended DeSantis' reaction and went on to criticize Biden.

"How is a hurricane in hurricane season 'climate change'? Even the climate alarmist NOAA disowns that claim. No wonder DeSantis squirms when Senile Joe does his climate hit," author and Fox News contributor Steve Milloy tweeted.

DeSantis' face: 'wtf is this babbling old fool talkin' about?,'" former Daily Wire editor Beth Baumann tweeted.

Newsweek has contacted Ron DeSantis and the White House for comment.
