'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 11: Meet the Cast, Including Season 10 Favorite Vanessa Vanjie Mateo

RuPaul's Drag Race will soon return for its 11th season. The 15 queens competing for the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar" were announced by Olympian Adam Rippon and Season 10 winner Aquaria on VH1 YouTube Live on Thursday.

While plenty of new faces were introduced, there was a familiar standout among Season 11 frontrunners: Season 10 contestant Miss Vanjie, who goes by the moniker Vanessa Vanjie Mateo in the upcoming season. Fans may recall Vanjie's exit on the first episode of Season 10 when she famously catwalked backwards after she was booted off the show.

Despite her early departure, viral memes of Vanjie's exit resulted in instant fandom, boosting her following by the thousands. "I'm no different—just America knows I'm sickening now. And I get a second opportunity so I came back by popular demand," Vanjie said.

"Before didn't nobody give a f**k about what I was posting on Instagram. I didn't have many followers. Now they realize, b***h I got something to say like Miss Jasmine, and they paying attention. I have a voice," she added. "If you a prehistoric fossilized drag queen that's not gone help you out. You gotta move with the times. B***h evolve."

With her Season 10 experience under her bustier, Vanjie said the plans to come back full steam. "Of course it's gonna be pressure to come back and do better, but to be honest y'all ain't see much except a hot glue gun, some flowers and a Barbie. So b***h, really after that, anything's gonna look good. I know what to do now," she said.

The competition will be tough, though. Along with Vanjie, queens from all around the world will do their best to impress RuPaul and the panel of judges. Contestants include A'keria C. Davenport, Ariel Versace, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Honey Davenport, Kahanna Montrese, Mercedes Iman Diamond, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Ra'jah D. O'Hara, Scarlet Envy, Shuga Cain, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Soju and Yvie Oddly.

RuPaul noted fans were in for one sickening season. "Just when I think to myself—'shedonealreadonehadherses'—a new crop of killer queens sashay their way into my heart and leave me gagging for more," the show host said. "Dare I say, this might be the most sickening season of all time."
