AC Milan vs Inter: Where to Watch Milan Derby on Saturday, TV Channel, Live Stream and Odds
This season's first instalment of one of the most iconic fixtures in world soccer gets underway on Saturday afternoon, as A.C. Milan takes on cross-town rivals Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri arrive into the Milan derby as solitary league leaders and as the only team in Serie A with a perfect record after three games. After a summer spending spree that saw Inter invest over $150 million on players, Antonio Conte's team has so far lived up to expectations.
Inter has won its first three games and boasts Serie A's best attack and the meanest defense, having scored seven goals and conceded just once.
Things began less auspiciously in the Champions League, with Inter needing an injury time equalizer to draw 1-1 at home to Slavia Prague on Tuesday. The first wobble of Conte's debut season with Inter comes just before his first real test.
Inter has not lost the Milan derby since 2016, but has lost the man who in recent years had become the scourge of its local rivals: Mauro Icardi.
The Argentine scored five times in the last four Milan derbies, including a hat-trick in a 3-2 win in October 2017 and a last-minute winner in a 1-0 win 11 months ago.
Icardi, however, was jettisoned by Conte in the summer and has since moved on loan to Paris Saint-Germain, with Romelu Lukaku replacing him as the main striker for the Nerazzurri.
The Belgian arrived from Manchester United for around $75 million this summer and has scored twice in his first three league games, but failed to leave his mark against Udinese last week and against Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
If Inter's hopes rest on Lukaku, A.C. Milan's are placed firmly on Krzysztof Piątek. The Polish striker is the Rossoneri's main attacking threat and opened his account for the season with the winner against Hellas Verona last week.
A.C. Milan is seventh in the table, three points adrift of its arch-rivals, but has won the last two games. Like Inter, A.C. Milan has only conceded once in three games and, like Inter, it has a coach who will make his debut in the Milan derby this weekend.
Marco Giampaolo arrived in Milan this summer from Sampdoria with a reputation for playing an exciting brand of soccer.
While Giampaolo wasn't afforded the same lavish spending as Conte, his team is yet to display any attacking verve but Milan fans will take a win over Inter whichever way it comes.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of Saturday.
