$1.3 Million Worth of Sex Toys Stolen From Truck

Police have appealed for information after over $1 million worth of sex toys was stolen from a truck parked on a roadside in the U.K.

Thieves broke into the vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday, September 18, and police in the East Midlands county of Northamptonshire, England, released details of the case the following day.

The driver had set off from the seaside town of Felixstowe in the county of Suffolk, and was heading inland to the town of Kettering, Northamptonshire, around 100 miles away. The truck, packed with over $1 million worth of goods, was destined for the headquarters of Rocks Off Ltd, a sex toy manufacturer and designer based on Cunliffe Drive in Kettering.

The vehicle carrying what the police described as "adult toys" was stationed on the A43 road, in the lay-by between the A14 and the village of Broughton, Northamptonshire, at the time of the incident.

Police believe the thieves broke into the truck between 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on the Wednesday. They took £1 million ($1.3 million) worth of products.

It is unclear what kind of sex toys were in the truck at the time of the theft, and which items were taken.

The police have urged anyone with information, including witnesses, to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Rocks Off Ltd. released a statement regarding the theft on Thursday evening.

"We have been shipping and manufacturing products for over 18 years and never have we ever experienced a theft of this kind in our trading history," the company said.

"We ship to customers all over the world and our brand is well known. Some of the products were bound for the USA and the packing is bespoke to our customer so clearly these products can be identified if they were to become available or offered in the UK."

Rocks Off Ltd. said it must still meet its obligations to its customers. "We have had to go back into production and advise our customers of the situation," it said. "All of our customers have been extremely supportive in what has been a very difficult situation."

According to its website, Rocks Off Ltd was founded in 2003. The company boasts of a "global presence with production facilities in the U.K. and China." Its headquarters and warehouse facilities are based in the U.K., and it supplies distributors, wholesalers, and chain stores "on all continents."

Rocks Off Ltd states it is "uniquely positioned to support large order volumes."
