Simone Biles' Olympics Exit Devastates Team USA Fans

Simone Biles' 2021 Olympic dream is over as the Team USA gymnast pulled out of the games on Tuesday morning.

The most decorated gymnast in history left the arena after scoring 13.766 on the vault in the first rotation—her lowest score in her Olympics career.

The 24-year-old's uncharacteristic misstep allowed the gymnasts from Russia to open up a one-point lead after the first rotation.

After a shaky landing, Biles exited the competition floor with the team doctor before returning minutes later with her right leg wrapped.

A Team USA coach reportedly later confirmed to NBC that Biles pulled out due to a "mental issue she is having." Her reason is not believed to be injury-related.

USA Gymnastics spokeswoman Carol Fabrizio confirmed that Biles would not compete in the remaining events.

"Simone has withdrawn from the team final competition due to a medical issue," a statement reads. "She will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions."

News of Biles' exit is circulating on social media where Team USA fans are sharing their disappointment for the gymnast and her team.

Sending prayers and love to @Simone_Biles. Hope she can still compete in the individuals on Thursday. But health first. https://t.co/bMN2dGWzM4

Earlier this week, the athlete confessed to having "the weight of the world" on her shoulders in an Instagram post.

"It wasn't an easy day or my best but I got through it," she posted from Tokyo on Monday morning. "I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times.

"I know I brush it off and make it seem like pressure doesn't affect me but damn sometimes it's hard hahaha! The Olympics is no joke! BUT I'm happy my family was able to be with me virtually they mean the world to me!"

Biles is the most successful U.S. gymnast of all time having won four gold medals and a bronze at Rio in 2016.

Team USA will finish the rest of the Tokyo competition without her.
